On the ocassion of the National Independence Day of the Republic of Poland, the Ambassador H.E. Mr. Andrzej Jasionowski welcomed guests at a garden party at the Polish Embassy in Belgrade. In attendance were members of the Serbian Government, diplomatic corps and officials.

Celebrating Italian Armed Forces Day, Italian ambassador H.E. Mr. Armando Varricchio  and  Mrs.  Varricchio,  and  the  Italian  Defence  Attaché  organised a party at the Italian Embassy. The  Foreign  Investors  Council  presented  the  White  Book  2011 to Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and the highest officials of Serbian Government.  This  year’s  edition,  the  ninth  in  a  row,  serves  as  basis for active dialogue between foreign investors and the government on ways to improve overall business climate.

Tanjug  news  agency  marked  the  “on  line”  presentation  of  the  introduction of  new  service  agencies,  which  was  attended  by  Mirko  Cvetković,  Prime Minister,  Slavica  Đukić  Dejanović,  President  of  the  National  Assembly  of Serbia, representatives of political, public and cultural life, business partners and colleagues from the media. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) celebrated a decade of development efforts in Serbia and a half century of service worldwide with a reception in Hall Americana at Dom Omladine. On  the  occasion  of  the  National  Day  of  Turkey, Ambassador  of  the  Republic  of  Turkey  H.E.  Mr.  Ali  Riza Çolak  and  Mrs.  Güldal  Çolak  hosted  a  reception  on the  31st  October  in  the  Crystal  Ballroom  at  the  Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Belgrade.

The United Nations, together with the Serbian Government, embraced civilizations and cultures at a Gala Concert celebrating the Alliance of Civilizations. The  Gala  was  the  peak  event  that  commemorated  the  66th  anniversary  of the  UN.  The  event  took  place  at  the  Ilija M.  Kolarac,  hosted  by  UN  Resident Coordinator  Willam  S.  Infante  (left),  Serbian  Vice-Prime  Minister  Bozidar Djelic,  and  UN  High  Representative  Jorge  Sampaio.  The  concert  featured a  program  “Under  One  Roof”  which  comprised  of  four  works  by  celebrated Serbian composer Aleksandar Simic.

Their Royal Highnesses, Crown Prince Alexander and Princess Katherine, attended a charity luncheon organized by the charity “Lifeline New York”, which operates under the patronage of HRH Princess Katherine, in the restaurant "Le Serko" in New York, to help orphans in Serbia. On the occasion of the 21st Anniversary of the unification of Germany, at the residence of the German Ambassador, a party was organized attended by members of the diplomatic core and the highest representatives of Serbian political, business and public life.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia has marked its 10th anniversary with media representatives, and presented the most significant accomplishments in the last decade. In addition, the new
President of AmCham in Serbia, Mr Miloš Đurković, CEO of Hewlett Packard Serbia, was elected. The event was attended by Serbian President Boris Tadić.

On the occasion of the French-speaking group of ambassadors in Serbia, outstanding names in the Serbian and international music scene including:
Sanja Kerkez-Tomasev, Dubravka Arsic, Janko Sinadinović, Gjorgjije Cuckovski, John Tomašev and Dragoljub Bajic and others gathered at the residence of the French Embassy. Professor Miljaković Olivera
and her students donated their fees to the "Home for the high school and university students”.

On the occasion of the national day of the Peoples Republic of China, New Chinese Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Zhang Wanxue organized a reception for the representatives of Serbian media.

At a ceremony at the business centre of Grand Motors, the U.S. Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Mary Warlick, handed over the keys to six vehicles for the emergency room, a gift of the European U.S. Army
Command, equipped by Grand Motors. The vehicles were donated to the Military Medical Academy, Clinical Centre Dr Dragisa Misovic, Institute for Mother and Child in Belgrade, the City hospital in Krusevac and the Emergency Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Following the great victory of Novak Djoković at the U.S. Open ATP tournament, last month, a huge celebration party was organized at Mondrian Hotel, in Soho, New York City, attended by Djoković’s family, closest friends and members of his team, in addition to celebrities and representatives of the Serbian diplomatic corps. Milka Forcan, Novak Djoković and Desko Nikitović, Consul General of Serbia in Chicago.

The U.S. Ambassador to Belgrade H.E. Mary Warlick hosted an informal cocktail party for her associates and friends in her official residence. On the occasion, Ambassador Warlick met with Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić, as well as the Director of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra Ivan Tasovac and Danish Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Mette Kjuel Nielsen.

Apropos the National Day of Brazil, a reception was held at the Brazilian Embassy in Belgrade. The Brazilian Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Alexandre Addor Neto was the host to the Russian Ambassador H.E. Alexander Konuzin, as well as other members of the diplomatic core in Belgrade. Princess Jelisaveta Karađorđević was also present.

The Polish Army Day was celebrated with a big reception at the Polish Embassy in Belgrade. The Polish Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Andrzej Edward Jasionowski welcomed the ambassadors and military attachés accredited in Belgrade, as well as Serbian Army officials, political officials and public figures. The reception was also attended by the British Ambassador H.E. Michael Davenport.

The Egyptian delegation at the 77th PEN Congress, which took place in Belgrade from the 12th to 18th September, held a cocktail party at the residence of the Egyptian Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Aly Galal Bassiouny. On the occasion, the Ambassador welcomed guests and congress participants, including many Serbian artists and public figures.

After his three years of service as the Korean Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Kim Djonghe had a farewell reception at his residence. Swiss Ambassador to Serbia H.E. The 201st anniversary of Mexico’s independence was celebrated at a lavish reception that took place in Belgrade’s Hyatt Regency Hotel. The Mexican Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Mercedes Felicitas Ruiz Zapata welcomed many guests including the U.S. Ambassador H.E. Mary Warlick, the Russian Ambassador H.E. Alexander Konuzin, as well as representatives of the diplomatic core in Belgrade. In addition many Serbian public figures and political officials attended the reception.

On the occasion of the celebration of the Republic of Slovakia’s Constitution Day, a reception for the diplomatic core in Belgrade and Serbian political and public figures was held at the Slovakian Embassy in Belgrade. The guests were greeted by the Slovakian Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Jan Varso and the Slovakian military attaché Jozef Vystavel, together with their spouses.
