American Corner Belgrade was founded on 16 May 2003 in cooperation with the Belgrade City Library and U.S. Embassy. On 17 October 2006, the American Corner was reopened in its current location in the Cultural Center Dom omladine. The Corner provides access to current and reliable information about the U.S. via book collections, the Internet, and through local programming for the general public. Sponsored jointly by the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, Belgrade City Library and Youth Cultural Center, the American Corner serves as an information outpost similar to a public library. The multi-media, book and periodical collections are open and accessible to all interested citizens.
